Palace Project
eRead Illinois is a collection of e-books and audiobooks available using the Palace Project app. It is facilitated by the Reaching Across Illinois Libraries (RAILS) System. The collection includes fiction, nonfiction, young adult, children's books, books, and audiobooks in Spanish, and more.
Limitations:
1. Currently, the Palace Project only works on Android and Apple iOS.
2. At this time, audio books do not work on Android devices, they are working on getting it up and running. Many public libraries are also subscribers to eRead Illinois. The audio books may work on Android devices via that subscription because the issue is specific to our authentication system on campus.
3. The Palace team is working on a web-based solution, which is expected to be implemented by early 2026.
4. It does not integrate with Kindle because the Kindle DRM and format are proprietary to Amazon Kindle. Visit the Palace FAQ page for more information about this.
5. No patron history due to privacy issues
Use the link in the heading immediately above or type "palace" in our library help menu for a link to tutorials for using the Palace App.
If you have been told that a course ebook is available on The Palace Project app. Go to either Google Play or the Apple App Store and search for "Palace." Download the app and choose "Olivet Nazarene University." You will be asked to authenticate via ONU credentials. These are the same credentials that you use for any other ONU authentication.
The titles in Boundless were purchased by eRead Illinois and most of them should be carried over to the new platform. New titles will continue to be added.
Palace is an app, not a website. At this time there is no patron-facing portal for users to visit in a browser. Users must use a device that allows apps to be downloaded. "The Palace app is currently supported on iOS and Android phones and tablets. Additionally, the App will support the latest version of Android and Apple (iOS) operating systems and the two preceding versions." --taken from publisher site. Visit the link above for more information.
The team is working on a web-based solution, which is expected to be implemented in early 2026.

Records are being added as of January 2026. Unlike with Boundless, you will not be able to link directly from our catalog into the Palace Project. If you discover a title in our catalog, you will need to open the Palace Project app and search for the title within the app.
