Area Public Libraries
Information
- Any item owned by local libraries may be borrowed via Benner Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Allow 1 week (2 days for RUSH requests). Contact ILL by email or phone (815-928-5439).
- Olivet ID cards are not accepted as public library cards.
- Illinois residents who have a valid public library card from a Prairie Cat member library may use that card at any Prairie Cat library, including the ones listed below.
- If you are not an Illinois resident and live in Olivet housing, you may get a library card from the Bourbonnais Public Library (BPL). In order to get a BPL card, bring your Tiger Card and driver’s license. This card will be valid for one year at all PraireCat members, including those listed below.
- ONU students are welcome to attend book discussions and programs at area public libraries. Registration may be required.

Kankakee Area Library Association (KALA) - “The Kankakee Area Library Association (KALA) holds monthly meetings on Thursdays from 4-5pm at member libraries. Librarians from public, school, academic, and special libraries are welcome to attend. Meeting generally include a short segment for business and a professional development topic presented by a library staff member from a participating library.”
