Industry Comparisons in Mergent Online

Using MergentOnline to making industry comparisons

Follow the instructions below to do a sample search.

1. Search by entering company name. (i.e., Toyota.)



2. Check the box located to the left of your desired company, and click near the top of the page on “Click here to add the currently selected companies.”



3. While still on the same page, click on the desired company name itself (i.e., “Toyota Motor Corp. (Japan)”)



4. Select the top green tab, “Create Reports”



5. Select the sub-tab, “Comparison Reports”, then “Compare Company Against Industry”



6. When new window appears:
   • Select “All Companies”
   
   
   • Check the box located near “Use extended report items...”
   
   
   • Select “Financials” or “Ratios” and their related subcategories, finalizing decisions by clicking on “Add Report Item”
     
   
   
7. To view results comparing specific company to industry as an average, be sure to check the box located next to “Include average in heading”
